Positioning (Ferry) Flight

A positioning or ferry flight moves an aircraft — without revenue passengers — to the airport where a trip starts, or back to base afterwards. On charter, positioning time when the aircraft isn't already near you is a real cost that shows up in the quote, especially for one-way trips.
