Our methodology

How we source and verify data, how our tools and rankings are calculated, and the principles that keep our advice independent. Serious decisions deserve to be built on transparent, honest information — here's how ours is made.

How we verify specifications

Every specification in our catalog is drawn from manufacturer data and type documentation and reviewed before it is published. Where sources differ, we favour the manufacturer's certified figures and note the reference conditions (for example, the assumptions behind a quoted range). We correct errors when we find them or when they're reported.

How our rankings are decided

Our "best [class]" rankings are spec-driven, not opinion. Aircraft are grouped by objective, mutually-exclusive size classes (for jets, the industry-standard maximum-take-off-weight bands) and ordered by a stated metric such as maximum range. The classification and ranking method is shown on every ranking page. We rank on the merits — never on who is selling.

How indicative figures are derived

Our free tools give indicative estimates from transparent, editable assumptions — never a quote or an appraisal. Operating and charter costs build up from class-typical hourly rates and cost lines; the valuation tool applies a declining-balance depreciation curve to a class-typical value; route distances are great-circle calculations from published airport coordinates. Every input is visible and adjustable, and every output is labelled indicative. A precise, aircraft-specific figure is prepared with our advisors.

Why some data is reserved

Free, indicative information is public so anyone can research well. Precise, decision-grade work — real transaction pricing, exact valuations, seller listings, full ownership and ROI models — is reserved for members and partners. This isn't a paywall for its own sake: it protects the confidentiality of buyers and sellers, and it keeps our advice independent of any single transaction.

Independence

We are an advisory house, not a seller's agent. Our tools, comparisons and rankings carry no paid placement, and our recommendations are not tied to a particular aircraft, broker or lender. When we help a client acquire, operate or charter, we represent their side of the table.

Spotted an error?

If a specification or figure looks wrong, tell us and we'll review it. Accuracy is the whole point — corrections are welcome at reachhangarmart@gmail.com.
