Useful Load

Useful load is the difference between an aircraft's maximum take-off weight and its basic empty weight — in other words, everything you can load: usable fuel, crew, passengers, baggage and cargo. It's one of the most practical numbers in aircraft selection, because a high headline payload means little if burning full fuel leaves no room for people.
