Overview

Pacific Aerospace was a New Zealand aircraft manufacturer based in Hamilton, with lineage tracing to Air Parts and Aero Engine Services and their 1973 combination into New Zealand Aerospace Industries. The Pacific Aerospace name dates to 1982. Across its history and predecessors, the group produced more than 700 utility, training and agricultural aircraft.

Its best-known products were the PAC 750XL, a rugged turboprop utility and skydiving aircraft (first flight 2001), together with the Cresco agricultural turboprop, the CT/4 Airtrainer military trainer, and the earlier Fletcher agricultural aircraft.

The company notified New Zealand's Civil Aviation Authority that it was insolvent in February 2021 and entered administration. NZSkydive Ltd acquired the business from administration in April 2021, initially trading as Pacific Aerospace before rebranding to NZAero on 1 November 2023. The successor company continues to support and develop the aircraft line.
