Vision Jet SF50

The Cirrus Vision Jet (SF50) created an entirely new category: the single-engine personal jet. Designed as the natural step up for the large community of Cirrus SR-series owners, it is the most accessible jet on the market — flyable single-pilot, with handling and a safety philosophy that deliberately echo the piston aircraft many of its owners already fly.

A single Williams turbofan gives a cruise in the region of 300 knots and a range of roughly 1,000 nautical miles at lower flight levels, framing it as a comfortable, pressurised aircraft for shorter regional trips rather than long hauls. The Garmin Perspective Touch+ flight deck and, crucially, the whole-aircraft CAPS parachute carry over the Cirrus safety DNA — and the later generation added Safe Return emergency autoland, which can land the aircraft automatically if the pilot is incapacitated.

The Vision Jet is the right aircraft for an owner-pilot transitioning from a high-performance piston or turboprop who wants jet comfort and simplicity without a type rating-heavy, two-crew operation. Its range and cabin are modest by jet standards, so buyers needing longer legs or larger groups should look to a light jet such as the Phenom 100 or 300. But as an entry point to jet ownership built around single-pilot accessibility and an unmatched safety story, it stands largely alone.
