Rolls-Royce Trent XWB

First run in 2010, the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB is a turbofan from Rolls-Royce built for jet propulsion for airliners and business jets, producing 97,000 lbf of thrust. It is a current-generation design.

The Rolls-Royce Trent XWB is the exclusive powerplant for the Airbus A350 XWB family and is the world's most efficient large aero engine by specific fuel consumption at the time of its introduction. It features a 3-spool architecture with an 84-inch diameter titanium wide-chord fan, a highly efficient compressor system, and a lean-burn combustor for low emissions. The engine entered commercial service in January 2015. Its applications include the Airbus A350-900, Airbus A350-1000 and Airbus A350-900ULR — and an engine's installed base matters commercially, because a widely flown type means deeper parts availability, more shop options and better residual liquidity.
