Overview

Vulcanair is an Italian aircraft manufacturer established in 1996 and based at Naples Capodichino, with origins in the production of aircraft spare parts. It expanded by acquiring the assets, type designs and rights of the bankrupt Partenavia, and in 1997 the SIAI-Marchetti SF.600 Canguro program from Finmeccanica.

The company specializes in light piston and turboprop aircraft, many derived from designs by engineers Luigi Pascale and Stelio Frati. Its core product is the twin-engine P68 family, offered in normally aspirated, turbocharged and retractable-gear variants, along with the P68 Observer 2 surveillance version with an extensively glazed nose. Other models include the turboprop AP68TP-600 A-Viator and the utility SF.600 Canguro.

Production takes place at Naples Capodichino Airport. Vulcanair remains an active, privately held manufacturer serving the utility, training, surveillance and general-aviation markets, and has continued to certify updated versions of its light aircraft for international customers.
