About the H125
The Airbus H125 — long known as the AS350 Ecureuil, or AStar in North America — is the definitive single-engine utility helicopter and the benchmark for aerial work. Its combination of high power margins, hot-and-high performance and a rugged airframe has made it the aircraft of choice for load-lifting, firefighting, powerline and survey work, mountain operations and high-end tourism, and in 2005 an AS350 famously became the only helicopter to land on the summit of Mount Everest.
Powered by a Turbomeca/Safran Arriel 2D engine, it carries up to six and offers a large, flexible cabin and strong external-load capability. Operators value its simplicity, availability and the vast global support network built over decades of production.
The H125 is the right helicopter when the mission demands performance and payload in demanding environments from a single, economical airframe. Operators who need twin-engine redundancy for passenger transport over water or congested areas will step up to an H135 or H145; those whose work is utility, aerial and high-altitude flying consistently return to the H125.
