SR20

The Cirrus SR20 is a four-seat composite piston single that introduced the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) to general aviation, providing a whole-aircraft ballistic parachute as a safety feature. Powered by a Continental IO-360-ES producing 200 hp, it offers modern glass-cockpit avionics via the Cirrus Perspective+ system. The SR20 serves as the entry point into the Cirrus fleet, widely used for personal transportation and flight training.

  • Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS) standard
  • Cirrus Perspective+ (G1000 NXi) glass cockpit

About the SR20

The Cirrus Aircraft SR20 — part of the SR Series family — is a single-engine piston aircraft aimed at affordable personal flying and owner-operation. It entered service in 1999 and is now an established, widely-supported design, developed in the United States.

On performance, it offers a maximum range of about 1,000 nautical miles and a cruise of roughly 155 knots. It seats up to 4 passengers and is powered by 1 Continental IO-360-ES engine.

Its 1,000 nm range makes it well matched to regional and short-to-medium legs. It is certified for single-pilot operation and is approved for IFR flight. Use the comparisons below to see how the SR20 stacks up against similar aircraft, then request a tailored assessment.
