About the PC-12 NGX
The Pilatus PC-12 NGX is the benchmark single-engine turboprop and the default choice for charter, corporate-shuttle and Non-Scheduled Operators worldwide. It is the rare aircraft that pairs a pressurised, stand-up executive cabin with genuine rough-field capability, so the same airframe can fly a corporate group in comfort and then operate into a short, unimproved strip with no FBO support.
The NGX generation introduced the PT6E-67XP engine with digital control and condition-based maintenance, improving both efficiency and availability, alongside an Advanced Cockpit Environment based on Honeywell avionics with autothrottle. A typical PC-12 cruises around 290 knots with roughly 1,800 nautical miles of range, and its large aft cargo door accepts oversized freight that simply will not fit through a conventional airstair — letting one aircraft switch between passenger and combi or cargo roles.
For operators whose routes mix metro airports with remote destinations and price-sensitive passenger loads, the PC-12 NGX delivers jet-like cabin comfort at turboprop economics, which is why it dominates its category. The principal consideration is that it is a single-engine aircraft: operators whose insurer, regulator or clientele require twin-engine redundancy — particularly over water or hostile terrain at night — may be steered elsewhere regardless of economics. For everyone else evaluating a first turbine, it remains the aircraft the rest of the segment is measured against.
