About the 429
The Bell 429 GlobalRanger is a light twin-engine helicopter designed for operators who need twin-engine safety, IFR capability and a genuinely usable cabin in a compact airframe. It is widely used for emergency medical services, corporate transport and law enforcement, where its flat-floor cabin, large clamshell rear doors and single-pilot IFR certification are decisive advantages.
Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW207D1 engines with dual FADEC and flown behind a modern glass cockpit, it seats up to eight and offers strong single-engine performance for safe operation over cities and water. Its cabin flexibility allows quick reconfiguration between medical, executive and utility layouts.
The Bell 429 fits operators who want the reassurance of two engines and IFR capability without stepping up to an intermediate twin — a natural fit for HEMS and parapublic missions. Buyers needing a larger cabin or more payload look to an H145 or AW139; those prioritising a compact, capable twin with a flat-floor cabin choose the 429.
